Classically Lined
Design by Nigel Irens
Nigel Irens is a renowned name in the world of water sports. Over the past 45 years, he has designed various sailing and motor yachts, winning international awards for his work. The design of the Serval originates from Nigel Irens as well – although 'his Serval,' known as the Claraboat, is made of wood. However, we've had the privilege of adapting his design for our saltwater-resistant aluminium sports tender: The Serval 26.
The Serval 26 is a classically lined tender, evident in its six strakes per side. Another hallmark of this sports tender is its unusually long hull relative to its displacement. Irens has coined the term 'LDL' for this type of design: Low Displacement/Length ratio.
This classic design imparts an elegant look, bolstered by simplicity and efficiency. Thanks to its LDL shape, the sports tender creates minimal to no waves even at high speeds, thus consuming up to twice less power.
